Tanya Lokshina
Tanya Lokshina is Deputy Director of Human Rights Watch’s Moscow office and joined the organisation in 2008. Having been educated as a journalist in the U.S., she moved to Moscow in 1998, where before jointing the HRW, she worked with the Moscow Helsinki Group and the Demos think tank. She has focused her activities on the human rights problems in Chechenya and Ingushetia, but also on the violations that occurred during the Georgia conflict. Lokshina has compiled many human rights reports and published books on human rights violations. She is a columnist on the Polit.ru website and awarded the Sakharov Prize in 2006.
