Cuno Jakob Tarfusser is a justice of the International Criminal Court. Before being appointed to this position in 2009, he worked for a long time in the Italian Public Prosecutor’s Office, including as Chief Public Prosecutor. He studied law at the Universities of Innsbruck and Padova. Tarfusser had presided at many noteworthy trials, especially in the fields of corruption, terrorism, crimes against the state, human trafficking and organised crime. He has lectured at many Italian universities and been a member of many international committees of inquiry.
