70 years since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
On 10 December, the international community will celebrate 70 years since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration is an underlying document on which the entire modern human rights framework is based. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most translated document in the world, having been translated into more than 500 languages.
It is important for the society that the general human rights are also upheld in the future. Human rights education at general education schools is therefore very important. Students of the Tallinn Kalamaja Basic School and the Kuuste School took part in a project carried out by the Estonian Institute of Human Rights, where they read 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on video in the way young people understand these.
On this page, we shall show you how it all turned out.
Thank You, Kersti Kivirüüt, Heli Toomejõe ja Mart Kimmel and Tallinna Kalamaja Basic School and Kuuste School pupils.
